Pusuk Buhit ("Top of the Hill") and Waterfall Efrata Hills, @Turpuk Limbong Village Pusuk Buhit area is a plateau resembling a small mountain on Samosir Island. Towards this place you can continue from Tomok direction before reaching the town of Pangururan. Before entering the gate of Pangururan city, you take to the right road/way towards the hot water bath and Tele. Tele is a connecting road between Samosir District and Kab.Toba Samosir which is quite steep but safe and you should concentrate when passing by vehicle. The road features views of Lake Toba from a stunning distance. Approximately 1 km after entering the Tele street, there is a village road to the right that is quite uphill and advised not to bring the vehicle to the top. The road is towards to Pusuk Buhit whose peak presents a panorama of Lake Toba from a stunning height. If you are an adventurous nature lover and are curious, you can climb the Pusuk Buhit on foot. However, before going to top and enter the road are actually you've been served with a beautiful panorama of Lake Toba under it. ![]() While the Efrata Waterfall Hill area is a place about 2 km further from where you enter the pusuk buhit earlier in the direction of Kab.Toba Samosir. Efrata Waterfall itself is at Limbong village at the bottom and requires longer leg trips. Tele Tower of View, Ds.Turpuk Limbong Kab.Samosir Tele Tower Views is located in Turpuk Limbong village, Kec.Harian, Kab.Samosir. From the direction of Efrata Waterfall Hill, you just continue the journey towards Sidikalang. This place is right on a sharp curve with a Tower View that presents spectacular views of Lake Toba. If you love photography, this place is a great photo spot that is very suitable to get a real panorama of Lake Toba, because it looks like a vast expanse of lake with ranks of cliffs and caldera hills. In the vicinity of this tele tower also has a panoramic view of trees and beautiful flowers combined with a typical Batak traditional house. Tongging Geosite Haranggaol & Sipiso-Piso Waterfall Tongging Hill Geosite Haranggaol and Sipiso-Piso Waterfall are located in Tongging Village of Kec.Merek Kab.Tanah Karo. This area is designated as the Earth Heritage of Geopark Region of Toba Caldera. You can take it from Medan to Tebing Tinggi- Parapat-Samosir Island and take the journey from the route we mentioned above; Coastal Samosir to Tele Tower to reach Tongging Hill & Sipiso-Piso Waterfall. Or it could be reach if you are from Silangit International Airport (Siborong-borong, Tarutung/Kab.Toba Samosir), you do continue the journey through Balige, Sidikalang and Tele. Tongging and Waterfall Sipiso-Piso is one of North Sumatra's main tourist destination for panoramic view of Lake Toba. Here also there are food and beverage stalls, souvenir shops and parking lots of vehicles sufficient for Micro Bis and Car. Yes, indeed this place really presents a striking panorama of nature where we can see panoramic Sipiso-Piso Waterfall combined with a stretch of villages spruce canyon, rice fields, along with amazing panorama of Lake Toba with cliffs and its hills caldera. Dairi Tao Silalahi located in a valley of coastal villages named Silalahi Village I, II, III and Paropo, Dairi District. The route towards to this place can be through Tele road bordering Kab.Samosir and Kab.Dairi had been heading towards Sidikalang or can pass through Silangit Airport towards Sidikalang. Tao Silalahi is the deepest trench in Lake Toba reaching a depth of 905 meters. There are two interesting things from this Tao Silalahi, are: a. This village is an ancestral village of Batak people surnamed Raja Silalahi along with his clan descendants. Here, there are the ancestral grave of King Silalahi and next to it stands a large Batak Traditional House and a spacious field as a place of custom events there. Behind this large traditional house is the direct edge of Lake Toba and there are many white plates and oranges (anggir) as a symbol of the prayers of the villagers to God Almighty through intermediaries of their ancestors. Before entering this ancestral grave complex, you are advised and obliged to contact the grave guard who is always there to guide you in getting of information and exploring the area. b. But surprisingly, in this small village was also standing a grand hotel building called Debang Resort Hotel which is located adjacent not far from the ancestor's grave of King Silalahi earlier. The hotel features stunning panoramic views of Lake Toba and caldera hills from close range that can be directly seen from every room. Here in lies the blend of uniqueness and beauty. Where we can witness the beauty of panorama of Lake Toba along with caldera hill from close range, a hotel magnificent and indigenous culture of Batak people which can seen directly. In addition, Tao Silalahi is a beautiful place where you can mingle directly with the lake water (recommended not to swim) and watch from close range one of the caldera hills are reddish green. The small caldera hills as seen overgrown with reddish grass with small pine trees and very cool eye view, plus panorama wide expanse of Lake Toba on the right that can be seen and touched from a very close distance. Taman Bukit Simalem Resort, Sidikalang, Merek Kab.Tanah Karo District The best and must-see spot to enjoy this Lake Toba, last one of them is Taman Bukit Simalem Resort. Located on Jl.Raya Merek KM.9, Sidikalang, Kodon-Kodon, Merek Kab.Tanah Karo. If from Medan, you can pass the route of Tebing Tinggi-Parapat-Sidikalang or if from Silangit International Airport you can go directly to Sidikalang. Simalem means cool and comfortable in Karo. This place is also one of the mainstay of the tourist attraction of North Sumatra Province which was developed by merging the concept of agriculture (agrotourism) and ecotourism activities in an integrated area and suitable for families who come on vacation.
